Well before the deadline (i.e. before Friend left last November), seven flowers were delivered in various shapes and sizes. All beautiful, simply beautiful. But it soon became obvious that a single corsage was not an option, particularly given the large sizes of four of them. Not an option unless you actually want a huge and more than slightly ridiculous looking single corsage. Unfortunately, life events took over and prevented my completion of the corsage so fast forward to, well, last week: Said friend (and her baby) were coming to visit, thus providing a perfect opportunity to give her the present in person and at knitting group. Perfect. However, there was a slight (= more than slight) flaw in the plan: Not only was the corsage was still in the form of seven individual flowers, but I hadn’t even made my contribution. So now you know the real reason behind my desire to knit “Peony”.
Designs of flower hangings, decorations etc were discarded in favour of five individual corsages, three of which were a combination of two flowers, so that Friend has the choice to incorporate any (or all!) as part of outfits / accessories. I hope you like the result but, more importantly, I hope she does too.
